i Kids Star仙川より、Scienceの課外授業の様子をレポートします👀 テーマは「火山と噴火」🌋 園児たちは、白衣を着て、ゴーグルを付け、気分はもうScientistです🥼🥽✨ 園児たちは、マグマ、溶岩、噴火など、火山に関連する多くの新しい語彙となぜ火山が噴火するのかについても英語で学びました📖 その後、各テーブルで噴火の実験をしました🌋 材料を混ぜ合わせ、紙で作った火山にゆっくりと流し込んでいくと…👀すべての火山が噴火し、園児たちは驚いた様子でした😆✨ 噴火の実験とともに、火山の背後にある科学を探求する素晴らしい時間を過ごせました。 This week, Sengawa hosted its first iKidsStar's after-school science class. The topic was volcanoes and why they erupt. We began the class by ensuring that all students were in attendance and equipped with their proper science gear (goggles and smocks). The students learned many new vocabulary words associated with volcanoes, such as magma, lava, and eruption. The PowerPoint presentation also explained the meanings of these words and why volcanoes erupt. After the presentation, I explained to the children that they were about to simulate an active volcano erupting using everyday products they could find at home. To create an eruption, each student had a cup of vinegar, dishwasher soap, baking powder, and water. The chemical ingredients in these products create an effect similar to that of an eruption. To demonstrate the effects to the children, I performed the experiment first. Adding food coloring to the mixture gave the eruption a red color, as if it were lava. The students really enjoyed the eruption experiment. Afterwards, I had each table create their very own eruption, one at a time. First, they mixed the two ingredients and slowly poured the mixture into our small paper volcano. Luckily, all volcanoes erupted, and the children were amazed.
